Every year more than 600.000 Stockholm citizens use underground local transportation. Stockholms Loakltrafik (SL) is known to be one or the most efficient public transportation networks with an user satisfaction rate beyond 60%. Train services are also the preferred transportation system for local mobility purposes.

During the period 2004-2005 almost all SL stations were refurbished due to every years investments.

From the sound point of view, requirements of a train station of this characteristics are basically scheduled announcements and non-scheduled incoming messages from an audio source. All system is computer managed. Main target of the project was to include audio messages as a complement to the current LED display for the blind and short sighted users.

Stockholms Loakltrafik engineering department after many tests and comparisons have finally chosen ECLER MPA multichannel amplifiers due to their proved reliability and robustness to solve the amplification requirements and zoning of every of the 50 train stations that make up the local network. Every station covers the service of up to 4 train lines and therefore MPA4-80 was an excellent problem solver due to its power delivering and number of amplification channels.

DLA600 dual 100V line adaptors are in charge of delivering the required 100V to drive the horns installed on every platform.

All equipment has been supplied to SL by ECLER’s distributor in Sweden Intersonic.
